Since your trusty scribe is a little under the weather I am going to make this short and sweet (did I just here a collective "thank God" from you guys?).
It's night 32 and Benry has joined the jury. Sash tells Fabio that Benry wanted him out and that Sash was protecting him. Before Fabio's head can explode in an effort to process this information, tree mail arrives. It promises full bellies and a trip to places they have never seen. There is also a 4G phone (I knew it...I just bought a flippin 3G phone and its obsolete!). On the phone are videos from loved ones. Tears are shed but we all know that this is just the start of the tear-fest. Just before the challenge, Fabio suggests that if three people go on the reward challenge it should be Fabio, Chase and Sash. There is somewhat reluctant agreement from the other two.
At the challenge, Dimples promises them a sail down the coast complete with sandwiches, cookies, chips, champagne and beer. Best of all their aforementioned loved ones are going to help them win the challenge. As the loved ones enter the challenge area there is a great outpouring of emotion, with Fabio being particularly emotional at the sight of his Mom. For the challenge, Survivors must run up a plank, dive into some water and retrieve 2 bags of letter tiles. The loved one must then assemble the tiles into a phrase. Chase's Mom is first to solve the puzzle (Family Comes First). Of course Chase gets to pick someone to go along. His first choice is Sash and his mom. The Dimples tells them that he can pick one more person. Poor Chase is not good at making decisions, but with much apologizing he chooses his old ally, Holly and her husband. I would be wrong to say that Fabio accepts this graciously. He sobs. He tells Chase that he would have taken him and that Chase knows how much Fabio's mom means to him. But the deal is done. Chase, Sash and Holly, along with their loved ones get on a sail boat for a trip down the coast. Over a meal they confirm that the three of them will go to the final and that Jane is too much of a risk to keep around. Fabio, Dan and Jane return to camp where Chase the good 'ole boy is now the arch villain. Fabio feels betrayed by Chase, Dan feels they have all just become expendable and Jane says that she realizes she is #4 in a four way alliance.
AS the threesome return to camp following their trip, Fabio is all over Chase about his choice. What he doesn't know is that Chase/Sash/Holly have decided he will be the next to go. At the immunity challenge (memorizing shapes while blindfolded and replicating the shape and the position on a shield) Fabio wins. Of course this puts a major wrench in the plans of the alliance. Sash and Fabio feel that Jane should go, and reluctantly Chase agrees. At this moment Jane walks up to the group. There is silence. Tension. Jane asks if it is her and they tell her it is. An angry Jane pours water on the fire before leaving for Tribal Council, saying that she started the fire and she will put it out.
At Tribal Council Dimples actually asks Jane, Dan and Fabio why they don't form their own alliance. Hmmmm, that's a good idea they say. But it seems such a hastily formed alliance has difficulty getting it right. When the votes are tabulated Jane is heading over to the jury and you can bet she won't be voting for Chase! With Jane goes Jack from the pool, who, I am sure is surprised he hung around this long. No one chose Jane to win the million.
Left in the pool are Cheryl (Sash), Roberta (Holly), Lynn (Fabio), Pam (Dan) and Selina (Chase). Only Marie and Donna (who voted for Sash), Roberta (who voted for Holly) and me (who voted for Chase) still have a chance at winning the red Survivor Nicaragua merged buff.
The season finale is on Sunday evening. Check for you local times and we will "see" you all after the episode.
Until then
