Well here we are on the third to last episode of Survivor Samoa. Where HAS the time gone? John has been evicted and 8 hopefuls remain. Sadly none of them are my guy Erik (who is sitting on the jury obviously plotting some sort of revenge on behalf of both of us. I actually can't remember who it is that Erik and I are mad at so I hope he gets it right). As the Aigaruvians arrive back at camp after Tribal Council, Shambo tells us that she is stunned by the tribe's decision to vote John off instead of Dave. She said she has been blindsided as much as John.EGG jumps in and tells Shambo that John was PO's at her and wanted to vote her off, so the rest of the tribe voted John off to save Shambo. As Shambo wanders away, totally appeased, EGG tells us that his damage control has worked perfectly and that he has lied to everyone about everything.
The next morning finds Jaison, Monica and Brett in a little huddle on the beach. Monica believes EGG is a threat and is feeling Jaison out about voting EGG off. Jaison decides that it is time to begin playing for the jury, and that the best way to do that is to confide to Monica and Brett that he has been helping EGG make the decisions. He also tells them that EGG made 2 million dollars last year, which raises eyebrows and drops jaws.
When they get called to a challenge they learn that there will be no reward challenge, only one for immunity. To win immunity, Survivors are randomly divided into opposing pairs. Each member of the pair then throws two bowling balls and tries to knock down more pins then their opposition. The member of the pair knocking down the most pins moves on to the second round, and eventually to the final. Shambo, EGG, Jaison and Dave all beat their opponents and move on to round two. Shambo and Jaison then go on to the final where, in a battle of gutter balls, Jaison wins immunity. Determined that Dave be the next to go, Shambo is ecstatic. If Dave doesn't go home this time, Shambo tells us, she is going to have to have a little talk with EGG. Meanwhile Dave is feeling very much the target. EGG is pretty much sold on Dave too, until Monica comes to try to sell him on the idea of getting rid of Shambo instead. Now EGG is not a fan of Monica but he seems to take what she says to heart, and says he doesn't need Shambo and maybe the better strategy is to keep Dave. EGG goes to talk to Dave and, not unlike like the Godfather, asks him why he has never come to him to ask him for a favour. We could get rid of Shambo instead, says EGG. Yet somewhere on the walk to Tribal Council, the rules change yet again, because when the votes are counted it is Dave who is walking over to spend quality time with the jury. Diving out of our pool with Danger Dave is Mitzi.
Back at camp after Tribal Council, EGG goes to work on Brett. He's a nice guy, says EGG, and tells Mick he must go. Mick is growing wary of EGG though and voices some concern. EGG interprets this as "freaking out" and starts to feel nervous about Mick.
Another immunity challenge rolls around (its a two-for-one-night). Dimples, in a midnight blue shirt tells the Survivors that they must run out into the water and retrieve each of three sandbags tied to a platform floating in the water. As they bring each one into shore they must put it on one end of a teeter totter, jump on the other end, and shoot the sandbag up into a basket. The first to get all three of their sandbags into their basket will win immunity. The 32 days in the wilds of Samoa seem to be taking their toll because everyone seems to be moving very slowly in this challenge. But youth prevails and Brett wins a very timely challenge. With Brett out of the picture EGG proclaims Monica as the next to go. Knowing she is on the chopping block Monica starts to work the crowd. She talks to Brett who suggests they might go to the final three together. She also talks to EGG and tells him that Jaison said he was a millionaire and that he could only use the immunity idol to day 36 and that's when they could make their move. EGG is furious and accuses Natalie of letting the cat out of the bag. Not I, says a wounded Natalie. Since all the fingers of blame are pointing at Jaison, EGG confronts Jaison about his breach of confidence. Jaison is nervous now, since playing to the jury has backfired in the form of a PO'd EGG. He says he has to nip this in the bud. Mick is doing some soul searching too, and says he wants to make a "big move" and that big move might involve getting rid of EGG. For his part, EGG is ticked at Jaison but is also mad at Monica. What to do, what to do? It seems his loyalty to the old Foa Foa outweighs his anger at Jaison though, because when the votes are counted at the second Tribal Council of the evening, it is Monica who is heading over to the jury. With Monica goes our pool's co-founder, Lynn. No one voted for either Dave or Monica as the final winner so there is no change in that area.
We now have six Survivors left. They are
Jaison (Lorelee)
Shambo (Rick)
Russell aka EGG (Lisa)
Natalie (Kathy)
Mick (Roberta)
Bret (Jan)
And in case you are wondering who is still in the running for the Survivor Samoa merge Bandana which goes to the person who correctly identifies the winner (or the one who comes the closest to the final) Marie, Debbie and Selina all voted for Jaison and so are in the running, As is Lisa who voted for Shambo.
Until next week,
Outwit, outplay, outlast
